Problem Note 42856: Dataload failure and error if loss_event_detail table is empty

DetailsAboutRate It
In SAS® OpRisk VaR, if you attempt to load data that have no loss event observations in the Loss Event Detail table, loss_event_detail.sas7bdat, the dataload will fail. The Global Range date check will generate an error because it expects loss observations. Errors and messages like the following occur:
ERROR 22-322: Syntax error, expecting one of the following: a name, a quoted string, a numeric constant, a datetime constant, a missing value, INPUT, PUT. MPRINT(ORVL_INT_DRIVER): call symput("ORVAR_DATE_END", put(18715, mmddyy10.)); SYMBOLGEN: Macro variable ORVAR_MAX_LOSS_END resolves to MPRINT(ORVL_INT_DRIVER): call symput("ORVAR_MAX_LOSS_END", put(, mmddyy10.) ); MPRINT(ORVL_INT_DRIVER): run; NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.

The workaround is to add a dummy loss observation to the Loss Event Detail table, making sure that it is in the Global Data Range, which enables the data to load, and then use a filter to remove the dummy observation.
